Rear seat covers: pics, fit, price, worth it?
My 135i occasionally has to assume the role of a UHaul to lug around some guitar equipment. Case in point below - a 67 lb Marshall Bluesbreaker amp.
I would have loved to have a fold down seat like the 3-series conv which would provide the hard seatback covered in carpet. But since the 1-series conv seats don't fold, I needed something to protect that sweet Boston leather. I saw the seat cover in the BMW Accessories Catalog. Conquest Auto advertises what they say is the OEM cover. It was about 10% less than the quote I got from my BMW dealer, $306. So I pulled the trigger. Conquest Auto 1-Series Rear Seat Cover Here's the summary of good and not so good points: + fit is excellent, as you would expect. + the felt facing and rear padding seem adequate to protect the leather. + a simple, thin fabric carrying bag is included. + simple to put on and take off - 5 mins each. - the materials seem pretty thin and cheap, including the fabric, padding, zippers. (Judging by look/feel, the price should be around $150.) - the cover I received does not cover the back of the front seats as in the picture. (Conquest is confirming right now if the coupe version covers the front seat backs. I believe the picture is of a 1-series 4-door sedan. I would prefer covering the front seats too. Update - both Coupe and Convertible only cover rear seat back & bottom only, not front seat back as in Conquest's photo.) - the "sharp" metal v-tabs that snug the cover under the trim cause some concern that you might scratch or gouge something. Is this really the best snugging solution? Those are the comments, here's the photos. Please vote in the poll if you think the seat covers are worth it. ..... It depends on if you need/want it. I would say get it. It's a little expensive, but it's made to fit your car. You could easily get some kind of blanket or other tacky solution, but this looks pretty good, and will protect your 'verts seats while the top is down or you're stowing away a large suit case like in your pictures. If you're swaying back and forth between the decision, just think on it for a while, or try and find a used one for less than the $300.

I just placed my order for this from United Parts based on this write up! I wish it came in black and is pricey but I don't want my dog messing up the leather.
I pondered the generic ones they have at PetSmart and Petco, but this one is custom fit and good looking.

Xin1120, yes, this looks like the exact same BMW cover. Wish I looked at United BMW before I bought mine - price looks much better.
