Dashcam...revisited?

In my defense I did a search but could not come up with substantive information on dashcams.

I just got my 2026 550e after my previous car was totalled in a collision. Dashcam saved me from liability. I would like to install one in the 550 rather than use the drive recorder each time.

Is my warranty affected in any way if I have a dashcam installed? I am going with Viofo or Blackvue.

No, it won't affect your warranty (unless perhaps it was hardwired incompetently and caused damage).

I would still recommend to purchase a subscription to Drive Recorder (for a nominal amount) to use in addition to your dashcam since it will capture images from all cameras in an accident (assuming your 550e has 3D surround view).
