Should have made it, its own actual boxy widebody design. There is a reason people like the look of the GWagon, Grenadier, GX550

Hopefully it isn’t priced like an XM. Needs to sound as menacing as a G-wagon.
My x5 lease is up in March of 2029….. could be good timing! |

Ironically, I have a Rubicon in the USA and it sees very little offroad use, and a luxury 7 passenger 6-cyl AWD SUV in another country and fitted only with BFG Trail Terrain tires, and regularly does some unbelievable things in the mud and wet sand with crappy e-diff AWD system. While I'd rather have the Rubicon for those situations, with some minor changes these big family lux SUVs will surprise with their capabilities. So even if based on the regular G-series BMW X5, I bet this G74 will be more than capable for 99% of the consumer driving situations.

I would luv to see BMW's spin on a Full Size Pickup Truck! The one thing pick-ups lack is good handling! Just imagine a BMW pickup the size of a Chevy Silverado High Country! Hell yeah...

Not for me, but my daughter has been in BMW’s since her first car (E46 325i) and she was just in the market to replace her current G01 X3. We remarked how well a BMW minivan would market to young families. I’d like to see their spin on that!

I heard a rumor from someone who works at the Spartanburg plant a month or two ago that they were preparing the factory for a pickup truck. Maybe they were referring to this, or maybe BMW will offer an SUV and truck option on the same chassis similar to the Rivian?

They better keep whoever was in charge of seat design on the X7 away from the project. They obviously have no kids, live in a climate where it never rains, or have lots of time to kill because that motorized car seat tilt is painfully slow.

Not sure why people like the G Wagons except maybe for a V8.

Body on frame. Inline big bore N.A. inline 6 with limited variable components. Low tech, big growl, battleship reliability, and high after market potential and support.
Traversing speed bumps at a Whole Foods supermarket parking lot is already well covered by the automotive world and BMW with 3, 5s and 7s. Take it to Baja. Take it to the revised Dakar. Then take me to the bank to buy one. ![]() |
