Destroked 4L S63 9k RPM Capable?!

Destroked 4L S63 by 4N Motorsport is complete and in the car!

We are running initial base map at 8200rpm with zero issues. Looking forward to cranking this thing up to 9k rpm!

Check out our initial test run and follow me on IG for more updates on the build @timebom6_

Been following the N55 project, and then by chance saw the S63 project last night, it sounds incredible, and also keen to see the graphs and the kits details on this granted its still in development.

Can you explain why destroking was something you explored? What are the advantages of it?

You would blow your engine up trying to run 9k rpm on a standard s63 configuration, tune and dp has nothing to do with it.

As I indicated in my original post, this is a destroked motor.

We ordered a custom, shorter 80mm billet crankshaft, which reduces engine from 4.4 to 4L displacement and shortens the stroke of the pistons. The shorter stroke (and lighter forged parts, specifically valve train) are what allow the engine will rev to 9k rpm more safely.

Example: The old v10 F1 cars would rev to 20k rpm and had a stroke of about 1.5in. Today they have a stroke of around 2 in and only rev to around 15k rpm
