Bumped from 2024 to 2025 X7
Hi,
I placed my X7order in early Feb so I would get car by mid-April. Dealer stalled and then fessed up that my status was still “order received” because I was bumped to 2025 model. They tried to pull the it is good for you bs. Does anybody know when the 2025s will be delivered? Can I get my deposit back since I am no longer getting the 2024 I signed contract for? Thanks |

I wouldn't worry . I was after a 2 series convert back in August of 2020 and before we could get an allocation they bumped me up to a 2021 instead and I took delivery of it Thanksgiving week of 2020.

Your dealership should be happy to return your deposit for any reason. It has cost them nothing so far. But you should also be able to find out at least the production status and month of production. They know when 2025 production for your model begins. You may not be asking the right person. It could still be as early as April or May. Hopefully the new model year will offer updates that correct some of the previous X7 problem areas. I hope you have a great experience.

Side note on allocations for everyone.
Always remember if you do in fact have a allocation you will get a production number right away. If you are not presented one that means you do not have an allocation.

It would seem that the model year it's called will change but where you are in line should not, right?
Unless the 2025 has a major change you hate, I'd take it as a nice freebie. If / when you ever trade or sell the car it'll be considered more valuable just to call it a '25 instead of a '24. |

What are the substantive differences from 24 to 25 that are turning you off?

If you decide to accept the switch to a '25 you'll want to confirm with the dealer that your order is price protected as there will likely be multiple $ increases between the time your order was entered and time of delivery.

Been a decade but we ordered our buggy in Feb 2013 and picked it up in May and it was a 2014. The model year had just flipped so "technically" the vehicle is 10 years old though we have been driving it for 11 years.
