2018 X5 Audio Head Unit
Looking for some ideas. My dealership diagnosed my X5 needing a new audio head unit. Price $5000.
Any ideas as to how i can save some money? The part numbers are 65125A28B06 and 65125A28B06C Don Last edited by X5help; 01-05-2024 at 07:33 AM.. Reason: added part numbers |

AS a FYI, you may receive more feedback if you post this topic in the F15 forum (2014-2018). This forum is for G05 (2019-). Best of luck with solving your issue. Happy New Year.

I'd be wondering how much a head unit controls. Is it "just" a radio, does it have the CEC, GPS, any other brains for the car?
If it's just a stereo, might be time for an aftermarket option. If it controls a bunch of stuff I'd start thinking something used from a junk yard. There may be coding of some sort involved, setting it up specifically for your car. Not fun. Good luck! |

Some time ago i came across a Romanian site where they allegedly repair this stuff for some 300€ or so. Have no idea if it is true but cant hurt to ask their advice

given the core price on FCP euro for the unit, it's probably a pretty easily fixed issue hence the giant core fee to prevent the aftermarket from repairing and selling refurbs.
