Mild Cosmetic Refresh & Engine Changes Coming For 3-Series in July 2024

From recent update in the future models thread:

G20/G21: Some kind of a mild cosmetic refresh in 07/24.

At the same time, US engines will be brought in line with the new emissions requirements (next year we'll know if that will affect power output).

In EU, all diesel engines will be brought to EU7 compliance starting 03/25.

I am thinking a B48 with an actual MH system that makes more sense and power. Or a detuned B58. The Gen 2 BMW MH.

I'd give up some trunk space to fit the powertrain (with battery) from the 545e and give it a factory M Performance tune.

Because the G80/82 has so much power they can go up and not worry too much . Give the M340i 450 HP 400 TQ

It will likely go down.

For example: US X3 M40i = 382 bhp

Euro X3 M40i = 355 bhp

Down to emissions.

The base M3/M4 has 473 hp and 406 ft lbs... those figures are way too close for the M340i.

There has been talk of the updated B58 engines making more power across the board so I wouldn't be shocked if the M performance version was in the range of 400 HP.

Aren't those basically the WHP numbers? Even if 450 the transmission is geared different than the M and it won't be as fast anyway. I bet the LCI M3/4 gets a bump too to compete with the C63's 600+ hp
