EGR valve replacement
My 640d GC stalled twice within a minute of starting and driving out of a multi storey car park under 5 mph. Idrive said drivetrain malfunction but all fault messages disappeared 5 minutes later on restart (car worked fine since but transmission not smooth and fuel efficiency had come down from 32mpg to 23mpg). So booked it in and have been advised there is a problem with the EGR valve which is being replaced under warranty.
Has anyone else had a similar issue. Is this common in a car 18 months old? What should I watch out for? Does this become a recurring issue in some way on some cars? I love my 640d but have to admit the replacements under warranty are shocking: a new sunroof (because the old one tilting mechanism never retracted) and a DIN media module replacement. Now the EGR!!

I had some issues with my car as well, good thing it is under warranty and I don't plan on keeping it after the lease. My car was at BMW for about two months in and out.

Was this specifically for EGR valve replacement?
Was the fuel pump and other issues related? Thanks for any inputs the forum can provide.
