Yep... '58 Squarebird (Ford Thunderbird)...but couldn't be sure if it was a '58 or '59...had to do some looking.

Your looking paid off. The '59 had horizontal lines instead of honeycomb. I love going to car shows and trying to guess. It's sort of a hobby.

Fun fact: The same goes for the headlight trim. '58 = Honeycomb '59 = horizontal lines Now, try to find a place to use this priceless information without having the listener roll their eyes!

Fun stuff to be sure. T-birds '58-'60 were the same body with different taillight treatments, grille designs, and side spear trim. Incredibly important stuff back when you were a kid of the '50's.

My kids used cassettes.

You know you're old when you spun 78 RPM records when you were a kid.

My first records where 78 RPM kids kids records. They were thicker and brittle as I recall. My teen years were all about 45rpm and then of course the 33 1/3 albums.

My dad liked Frank Sinatra on 78s. I liked Ol' Blue Eyes too. I would listen with my dad when I was very young.

My grandson is in a chorus in middle school and they are working on Fly Me To the Moon right now.

I love Sinatra too so I got my trusty guitar out and decided to learn that great ol' classic.

My grandson doesn't know I've learned it but when he comes over after their next concert we can perform it together for the family. He's a great singer. Me, not so much.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Remember I told you about my younger sister and me, so you know I like that.

Yes, I do remember now that you mention it.

BTW, the guitar I'm playing Fly me to the moon on was built in 1953, a year earlier than the song was written. I think that's pretty cool.

Yes, stuff that I regret to this day (50 years later)

Maybe some day I'll spill my guts here...

Still jealous I can’t play guitar. Feel like an old dog who can’t learn new tricks.

And I agree about the guitar built in ‘53. Pretty cool.

I wanted to learn guitar and our worship leader said he's teach any one for free, but they had to play on the team. I tried to take him up on it and he told me everyone plays the guitar and he needed a bass player. So, here I am a few years later playing the bass, albeit I pretty much taught myself. I have a finger-length issue, which makes playing anything bigger than a violin or ukulele difficult. I am playing a short-scale bass, which helps. I still can't do a finger per fret (the best I can manage is 4 fingers over 3 frets).

The Yamaha acoustic/electric I bought 13 years ago is still in its gig bag...
