G60 Wheel Suggestion
I'm new to being a BMW owner. Just purchased a 2026 540i xDrive. Love the car and the ride quality but it came with 20s/non-run flats. The 20 inch wheels make me a bit nervous here on our rough New England country roads. I'm thinking about going to 19s or even 18s. Anyone made either of those changes to 19 or 18? I don't have the M sport option on this car, so standard calipers.

Beautiful car! I don’t know the magic wheel size for winter driving but I’d definitely stay with all season or winter tires until at least mid Spring in New England.

It came with non-run flat all seasons and I've had occasion to drive it on snowpack roads. Its not bad there but I know going to an 18 or 19 opens up more opportunity for both an even better/quieter ride with more rubber options. My goal is to add an All-Weather tire (like the Pirelli Cinturato WeatherActive) on an 18 or 19 wheel.

My recent experience has been on X3s that wear 20” wheels. The 2013 came with all season run-flats and the 2026 has Pirelli all seasons. I’m trying not to get unduly influenced by the recent winter storms but I would certainly get used to changing sets of tires twice a year if I lived further north. Ice on the road is a real game changer.
