It's been blowing since yesterday afternoon, but it's Santa Ana winds, so temp is 70. Bits and spits of water from the sky, but the real rain is supposed to start later tonight thru Jan 8. Not high percentages in the later part of next week, but it's weird seeing those rain icons for 10 days straight.

I have those rain icons as well. Local weather says we’re going to get approx 6 inches over the course of the next 10 days. Ground is already saturated from the previous rain storms.

No Santa Ana winds today in my area.

We've had lots of much-needed rain in California. There have been nice breaks in the storms to allow the rain to soak in before the next storm. We live in a hillside so that's important. First photo is looking out between storms from the yard. The second shot is the Web cam from just now at Heavenly Ski Resort. When we get rain it makes for great ski conditions. I'll be up there next week.

I know it's more fun to live where it snows, but it's pretty cool to just drive to it when you want to ski.

The squalls were wild here early on New Years Day morning. Looking out my window it was like living in a snow globe. It only lasted about an hour and didn’t accumulate but it was intense.

The rain has finally stopped here and I don't see anymore coming in the foreseeable future. Soon the sun will come out and we will have the time to dry out after several rainstorms and many days of mostly rain.

NWS just issued a Winter Weather Advisory for tonight, predicting some light freezing rain.

Our forecast is for rain through the end of the week (except Thursday), with highs slowly from the mid to upper 40's F as the week progresses. Then, it's back to normal for the start of next week.....
