Hovering around freezing point today with rain all day. Everything is already covered in ice... It's supposed to get warm overnight so hopefully it melts away.
Thankful for the holidays where I can vegetate at home. |

I just noticed on my weather station that last night's low was 6 F-reezing degrees here! The forecast low was 18 F.
 The freezing rain (ZR) has begun. Keeping my fingers crossed that the power stays online all night.....

Currently sunny and 66°F with a high predicted at 67. More rain coming this week starting on New Year's Eve Day.
Heard the New York area has been having its worst snowstorm in 4 years. Stay warm and dry, you guys. And most importantly, stay safe! |

Had some lightning during dinner. Still coming down with heavy rain... the existing ice doesn't seem to be melting too much.
Noticed the neighbours have a cable hanging from their house awfully close to my car. After inspecting it's just a stupid telecom wire and not power. |

Well, it is Monday and oh my the cold is back!
Was 18F at 6am when I went out to run an early morning errand. To be sure others have it worse -- cold and various types of (mostly) frozen precip -- but dang from 68F Sunday at 6am to 18F today at 6am is not in the travel brochure... |

It's been all over the place here. Mid 70s, low 20s, 50s right now. Everything called for rain, haven't seen a drop. Calls for a sunny day today, but it's nothing but clouds. Apparently no one knows.

We've had a mostly rainy December, but no freezing temperatures. Now it is 31F and dry and forecast to stay the same for several days. Then warmer temps and rain return for the new year.

Santa Ana winds are blowing; 30mph sustained, 50/60 mph gusts. Last week we got several days/inches of rain and the ground is saturated so there is the possibility of downed trees, power lines, etc. This is supposed to last through Tuesday.

After the freezing rain we went above freezing by a few degrees. It's now pretty windy and flurries called for overnight and tomorrow.
