X5 LCI starter battery warning
The app shows a warning message for the last week:
Your starter battery is severely discharged. You can still drive, but some power-consuming functions have been disabled in the vehicle to protect the battery (for example, Remote Services). To solve the problem, fully charge the high-voltage battery. How do I fully charge the high-voltage battery? My daily commute is 40miles and it doesn't seem to be enough to charge the battery. All the remote services work with no issues. Car is a 2024 X5 xdrive40i Last edited by mich_ull; 12-05-2024 at 12:52 PM.. |

I would take it to a dealer. Your drive is more than necessary to charge the battery. So either you need a new battery or the alternator is bad.

I assumed the battery gets charged by regenerative braking, not the alternator. I have a hardwired dashcam. Is it possible that's the issue even though it's wired to the 12v system? I just find it strange that the warning says remote services are disabled even though they work.
