MAF Sensor OEM or Bosch
All,
I need to replace my MAF sensors on my 2015 650 Gran Coupe. Through BMW Parts they are like $280. On FCP Euro they have a Bosch one for $71. That’s a pretty big difference when switching out both. Is there any benefit to OEM over the Bosch in the link below? I appreciate any help. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...sch-0280218417 |

BMW does not make MAF sensors. Somebody else makes them and puts BMW's name and part number on them. There are only so many makers. The OEM may well be a Bosch with a BMW logo. Somebody here probably knows, but you could try Googling something like "Who makes BMW MAF sensors?" Personally I'd probably buy the Bosch.

The BMW Genuine is made by Bosch. I’ve seen some people said buy the cheaper and others say buy the Genuine BMW for how important the part is. Not sure if anyone has first hand experience with something like this. I feel like FCP Euro saying the $71 is OE and fits would be correct give the size of the company vs buying off some random person on ebay

I personally buy whatever shows as OE if they have that option at FCP. OE means that’s the exact same part as what the car manufacturer uses, just with the logo removed.
I’ve seen it on firsthand on parts I’ve ordered where there’s a small round section ground out that you can tell was obviously the BMW logo. And Bosch is a well know car part manufacturer and is generally trusted for parts. |
