You Canadians are going to have to dial back the drinking...

Murf the Surf I think your government is concerned about your rum consumption...

At the risk of getting this thread cancelled, maybe it's because of our Government that we drink so much.

Amongst other things this one is also needed in case you get sick or die, and have had the vaccine. You know something to contribute to your illness other than the covid vaccine.

Ack! Why bother with it at all, then?

1. Don't drink
2. Don't eat processed foods
3. Don't eat meat
4. Don't smoke
5. Don't drive fossil fuel powered cars
6. Don't go out in the sunshine
7. Don't drink coffee
9. Don't engage in risky sports

Man y'all got to chill in this thread. The government is just giving you facts as we obtain information in this society with stats and research. You do what you want with that info. It's just a guidance. Reading tthe replies it's as if the government forced you people to never ever drink again. This ain't the prohibition guys.

Yes, we know. My post and all the responses have been in jest, well at least mine was... and in the interest of full disclosure, I am enjoying a glass of wine as I type this!

Cheers, and I'm having a rum. Our government wants us to cut back and you guys have drink holders on the shopping carts at the liquor store.

I’ll top that. Our local grocery store has its own brewery so you buy a pint to enjoy while shopping. They call it sip and shop… and yes, the shopping carts have cup holders!

Not sure if I live a sheltered life or if I just go shopping too early in the morning. I thought those were for coffee cups. Maybe I should go at 6 pm and not 6 am.

Yeah, I don't think my market would allow me to have an open container while shopping. lol

I know we're just having some fun here, but wouldn't want to anyway, still gotta drive home.

Mb, it's just we live in a world where people who seriously think like that exist (I've had anecdotal experiences) and over the internet it's difficult to perceive the tone.

Well, by the time I get out of the daily 17:00 Hot Tub dip, I'm already past the new standard... Fuchen idiots!

The next one is, if you reduce your breathing rate by 50%, it will lower the risk of Lung Cancer by 1%...

No, you need to come down south. Back in New Orleans there a family owned chain of grocery stores that had full bars in them. The ladies would shop while the men would have a “pop” at the bar. This was back in the ‘50s and ‘60s though the chain survived until the late ‘80s.

My grocery store doesn't have a brewery, but it does have a full open bar and a hot tub! You gotta make your own drinks though.

We've been getting our groceries delivered to the house since my gf got hooked on that in 2020.

I don't understand the desire to drink every day unless you are addicted. I always think of the feeling I get the next day and that keeps me to a couple drinks once per week. The old recommendation of a max of 2 drinks per day seemed excessive

Chocolate is another story, I usually have some dark chocolate every day.
