It's just us 2. Haven't had to cook anything that didn't fit yet. If you have a big family or are having large parties then you probably want a dedicated grill. For me the only wasted space is the sider burner which I don't think I've ever used on any grill I've owned.

They make the same grill as a full size smoker only. If I was smoking full briskets or multiple racks of ribs I would probably go for that and get a separate gas grill.
