That's some dedication to faking it. The way it's executed actually makes me think that an M4 Gran Coupe wouldn't be the worst idea. But at that point, it's just an M3 with a more gradual roofline.

A quick look under the hood at the non-M motor or a vin check tells the tale though. And there is that sunroof.

Do you drive your (private) vehicle on (public) roads? Do you park at (public) venues. Do humans have eyes to see and minds to perceive?

I would argue the onus is on you not to care what others think, rather than to try and silence them from having an opinion.

That's actually how objective societal opinion forms. From a multitude of subjective opinions. If 90% of ten million people think your car is ugly (I'm using this an example..), then it is objectively ugly. It is still subjectively beautiful to you, and you should not care what the rest of the world thinks.

To be fair, I don't know if the 520 even existed. I have no knowledge about older BMW.

We don't have any 520 models in North America, neither do we have any diesels for the E60 body. The 520d was the lowest spec 5 series offered with a diesel engine.

My car is actually an M5 though, hence the 520d "fake badge", that was the joke.

In all downgrading a badge is probably worse.

I thought it was an M5 at first, but looking at your garage I wondered if you still had it. In all it looks sharp and I would have kept the M badge.

At least you didn't put a d after the M5.

I downgraded mine from 328d to 320d because that is what it is ROW.
