Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I was due to go to BMW Welt earlier this year but had to cancel it. BMW Museum, BMW Group Classic remain closed. https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...oms-from-may-4

Great news! Hopefully travel restrictions will ease up as well and ED can continue for many luckily new customers in the summer!

that's awesome, curious to see what sort of safety measures will be in place.

Will they let folks from the US attend? I have a trip to Germany and Switzerland planned in September, and I have a Porsche factory tour scheduled in Stuttgart. I was working on scheduling the BMW factory when the CV19 hit the fan.
I am not very hopeful that we will be able to travel to Europe in September. |

Semi-related. We ordered a new Volvo in February for their overseas delivery program in Sweden and I had not heard a thing until yesterday about the scheduled pickup in June.
They're now offering various choices whether to try and keep your date and make plans knowing they could be canceled, have the vehicle built and delivered and take a voucher for the trip within a year, or various other options involving fall dates or trip cancellations. I can't imagine anyone wants east coast Americans traveling to their country in the next few months, and I was glad to take the car now and the trip later. Volvo actually includes airfare for 2 in their OSD program so it's a bit different than some but I'm curious to know what any folks with scheduled European delivery are thinking will happen. |

Of course, so does every consumer car show or even showroom after COVID. I presume dealers will keep cars locked for awhile, opening them on request and sanitizing surfaces between customers. |

If you love the 2 Series GC, you'll love BMW Welt
Except it is kind of a disappointment. I was there last November (meh). Even the museum felt like it had lost all direction. A lot of floor space dedicated to an abandoned product (i3) and the rest was poorly curated- as if the Museum had lost its Director in 2015 and the position was never filled. The engine displays were great, but the entire experience just confirmed for us that BMW has lost the script and lacks a clear direction.
The BMW Welt delivery facility looks grand, but the interior space just feels disjointed and- well, like a premium showroom for product you have already seen 100x. Olympiapark was much more interesting, and that thing arrived in 1972. The whole experience feels like a perfect metaphor for where BMW is today; popular, but not very interesting if you understand anything about design and engineering. But if you love the X2 or the fwd 2 Series GC, you'll love BMW Welt. -Michael |

BMW Welt was designed and built when BMW was making “the cars that you love”. Design hasn’t changed a bit. And for the BMW Museum, their main exhibit changes periodically. I’ve seen the exhibits dedicated to Mini, Rolls Royce, and one other I cannot recall. You have to go there multiple times, I’ve been 4 times.

I was there last year just to visit and I had a great time! Unfortunately, I was there for work and only spent about a hour. Had to rush through everything. But better to have seen it than not!
Really wanted to do ED on day, but it's harder to justify with what's going on in the world. However, if I were to do it, I thought about just flying there, do the delivery experience and then fly back home 😂😂. But honestly, it's also harder to turn down a greater discount by doing PCD than the 5% that comes with ED.
