M6 Gran Coupe - Atlantis Blue (UK)
My F06 M6 Gran Coupe Competition pack was collected on Tuesday.
So far - love it ... feels more exclusive and refined than the M5. Not a fan of the frameless windows mind. Usually I would factory order a car but the M6 was not possible, infact there are only 4 or so new ones left in the UK for sale. My car has: Individual Atlantis blue paint Platinum merino full leather Comp pack B&O Heated rear seats Surround view Piano black trim ( no carbon - yet ) Reversing camera (which is quite cool - comes out under the BMW badge on rear) Lots of changes on the go, some have already been done. Here is collection day... MOD 1 - Window tints Rear windows as per Sun protection glass tint, fronts in clear UV. MOD 2 - Black grills Before: After: MOD 3 - Carbon fibre shifter Fairly easy to install, pull the glued on legend off undo a torx bolt, remove it all and replace with the M Performance kit. MOD 4 - Carbon wing mirrors Quite annoyingly I broke the drivers side glass doing this (and yes I was gentle), £366 to replace! What's next M Performance exhaust with carbon tips Vorsteiner VFF 103 21" Carbon grey wheels Black side gills (EAS) Black M6 badge (EAS) Pedals (M Performance) Vorsteiner rear carbon diffusor Vorsteiner rear boot carbon spoiler Vorsteiner front carbon splitter Wrap door handle chrome inserts black I'm toying with a matt PPF beforehand. Wheels on order... Bootlip on order... Front lip on order... Diffusor on order... Side gills... Rear badge... Overall package... Some questions... Any recommendations for wheel spacers on M6 with VFF 103 21"? Are they needed Will the car want lowering with the VFF 103? Thanks Mat

Wow! Firstly congratulations on the delivery. I'm pretty sure you have a 1 of 1 color here. I've seen Atlantis on other M cars, but it looks stunning on the M6GC.
Despite not being able to customize your order, this car is pretty darn unique and how I likely would have ordered mine (I might have ordered Frozen Silver, Frozen Moonstone or Moonstone). Piano Black is also a rare trim

Also, I love how dealers put the car in that glass room for delivery. I've bought 2 BMWs at dealerships and have only had that experience once.

I really want carbon trim, and it is proving hard to find it in the UK. BMW have no delivery date for the rear door pieces. Usually I spend money to add carbon to my cars, the one time it's standard interior trim the dealer who ordered this car decided to upgrade to piano black. A shame. It is nice though but scratches easily? PS frozen moonstone would have probably been my choice if I was able to choose. I am considering a matt PPF to the Atlantis. Thanks Mat

Very nice! Congratulations. Let's see some interior pics.
Vorsteiner aero is very nice addition. Will definitely transform the car. The OEM chrome grill and OEM wheels actually look good. But the black grill, wheels, etc, never gets old in an M car. Welcome to the club |

If your trim isn't damaged and if it hasn't been too long, I would ask your dealer for a free swap.

That's a very handsome car you have there, and the Atlantis blue paint compliments the M6 GC very well and I doubt you'll ever spot another M6 in that colour.
Rear window tint aside, I would have left the car as is, but each to their own. You do have quite long list of modification planned from suspension & wheels to the aerodynamic add-ons such as the diffuser and front lip (admittedly the Vorstiener ones do look bloody nice) but doesn't tweaking the car so much massively impact your insurance? It seems like modifying a car in the USA is common place and I therefore guess that insurance companies in the US take a slightly different view of modified cars, but I've always found UK insurance companies being very fussy about such modifications. Certainly trying to get an online quote once you've moved away from manufacturer specification becomes impossible. I'll be looking forward to see the finished article one all your mods are done. |

Amazingly there are 4 Atlantis Blue RHD M6 GCs, but the car looks fantastic.

Yes, every car - but only M6 GCs! There are too many M3's to do it by hand, you'd need access directly to the database or a good bot script.

There are several VIN ranges, because the runs are quite small it's often hard to find a block. There are a few in the last block I have not yet had the time to retrieve. There are at least 565 cars in the UK (and Ireland) out of 1092 RHD cars, and probably about 30-40 more than that out of another 70 or so cars that I don't have the data for.

Fit well. But not so well the boot deck lip spoiler.
I have now sold the car but have the front splitter and rear diffusor for sale if anyone is in the UK. Bit bit to ship around the world perhaps. Thanks Mat |
