Maybe someday but currently against the law.

federal safety regulations continue to prohibit the use of cameras in place of mirrors.

Next problem I am interested in is what is the initial cost difference and how likely is it for everything to work without repairs for 10 years. My daily driver has lane departure (shows on screen and seat vibrates), heads up display, crash warning, front and rear indicators on the dash that show how close I am to things, and rear camera.

If any of the these break after the warranty is up I would fix none of them, my life wouldn't change and I could drive the car normally and safely. I wonder how many old cars would have problems with the mirrors where people wouldn't fix them and have no idea what is behind or next to them. At least now when I drive up on a car missing mirrors I realize they are missing and plan accordingly.
