What he said. That would be a great aftermarket mod.

I'm wondering how much 650i costs in the US because where I live it's around 112300 $ and that's for the entry level 650i

Base 650i and 650xi are $83k and $86k, respectively. Equipped as most of us have bought them, they're about $100k to $110k. Base has very little standard, so the packages add up quickly.

I could be biased because I drive one, but I think MB has got the folding hardtop down better than anyone else, with both the SLK and the SL. They look natural and intentional, with a shape that fits the car rather than a shape that makes the car look ugly because it's a folding hardtop. I think if either of these cars were to be a proper coupe, they would have the same roof line and shape. That's what wins it in my book.

The worst are Lexus, followed by Infiniti, as far as how the overall shape of the roof looks nothing like it would if the car was a coupe. They both look deformed. They both remind me of Quasimodo, without the personality.

Aren't the new Sebrings, hard tops? Maybe I am wrong and it was something else I saw

So the roof lines show more if the top is not taken care of - I treated my tops with RaggTopp protectant and the lines were barely noticeable.

And it's funny you mention the Chrysler - I thought the 6er vert looked like a Chrysler when I first saw it. It's grown on me, but not so much that I chose a coupe!
Is that product you are using for a hard top as well? I was talking about the seams/lines of a hard top where the roof folds.

The six series has a thick multi-layer canvas top that I found to be as quiet as the hard top for all practical purposes. I came from an '06 hardtop to an '07 vert Would a sound meter confirm that? Doubtful, but it has to be very close.

Canvas top allows a rolling up or down sequence. That's proven very handy when sudden rains appear. ZERO motion allowed with the hard top.

Most importantly, the hard tops are MUCH heavier and basically take all trunk space. I could put a golf bag in my sixer with the top down. I can put my golf shoes in my M3 with the top down. With a bigger six series, you'd have zero room.

I understand many may disagree as my instincts were do lean toward the hard top too until I lived with both.

No, no - you treat seams, plastic parts, interior dash, etc with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Keeps it looking new, 2 UV protectants, etc. Been a staple in my car care arsenal for years.
