Cut view of runflat side wall
while on the topic of run flat tires,
there was a posting by Dunlop Korea, they cut down the sidewall of DUNLOP SP sport 01 and DUNLOP SP sport MAXX GT. I like runflats. I don't want to be crushed when it blows |

Good post and topic
Here's an older post we made a while back, comparing the traditional tire to the runflat tire. Quote:

Thanks!
My 645Ci came with Goodyear run flats and I didn't like them. They came on 18" wheels but they still rode like stone. And they were greasy feeling [hard compound?] in the wet. I am hoping I will like the Dunlops. The new Continental tires seem like they'd be a good match, too, but you have to play size games.

My 20" RFT's on the 650 seem WAAAY better than the 19's on my 335. Not sure if this is the car or better tire technology, but I wouldn't be concerned GreyCoupe.

I tried a Bridgestone runflat over a Dunlop on my previous 5er and while it seemed to be more quiet, I felt it had less handling and grip on the ground and corners. Ride comfortableness both same.
The supposedly next generation runflat Dunlops on 650i feels better than those two, even though there was a size increase from 18' to 19'. Have to ride some more to really evaluate. I haven't tried any other brands but I will get Dunlop again next time. |
