My racing video with my new F13 M6 versus Nissan GT-R R35

Hi Guys,

I have a story to tell you which is going to put a HUGE smile on your face if you love BMW.

So my friend has a 2012 GTR and he has been nagging me for a while now to race him! I really didnt want to because, well because i was scared! HAHA! you know that feeling you get when you are sure you are going to get an ass whipping!?

Anyway, so I postponed as long as I could and then the day came where I didnt have an excuse..

We met up, had some food while we waited for traffic to cool down. Now I know the crazy figures of GTR 0-100 in 0.001 sec and all, so we agreed that all tests would be done without launch control, to see which car was stronger not to see who has the better traction system.

1) 0-200 1st gear (I did not disengage the traction to full off but kept it to limited)
2) rolling 2nd gear from 50km/h
3) rolling 3rd gear from 110km/h
4) highway 100-275 start 3rd gear.

Score:
M6 - 4, GTR - 0

To give you an idea of how the race went.

When rolling start in 2nd gear we are pretty much neck on neck, M6 might be ahead with about 0.5meter, then when the GTR changes into 3rd the M6 creeps forward slowly. With every gear change the M6 moves forward a little by about 1meter because you only change into gear later +- 500 rpms later. So when he changes into 5th the M6 is still in 4th and moves forward. By 220km/h I could see his bumper on my ass in my rear view mirror and by 275km/h I was at least 3 car lengths ahead.

I know a M6 wont beat a gtr on 1/4 mile but when you meet a GTR on the highway you definitely have the green light to kick some ass!

Some other interesting figures when we had at a racing day:
M5 1000meter (1km) run : 258km/h
GTR : 258km/h
GTR 2010 (modd 530hp) : 262km/h
M6 F13 : 265km/h (264.7) this was my car with low km's. It feels much loser now and I will soon go race again and record times and make video for all the GTR fanboys!


UPDATE 2/17/13

Raced the other GTR today, black R35 2012.. Guess his was broken also! LOL!

I have video, standing start. If not enough that he has AWD he still jumped the start, but I caught him quick and by 3rd gear was next to him, from there it was bye bye Nissan.

So now we have 3 broken Nissans, broken drivers, fake videos etc etc..

I'm sure your car is quick but clearly somebody cannot drive a GT-R off the line otherwise you'd lose that 0-200. Nice video regardless.

1) Did you watch the video? Its a rolling start..
2) did you know a F13 M6 0-200 is a second faster than the gtr? 11.3 vs 12.2
3) F13 M6 on 1000m 265km/h and GTR 258km/h.
4) It takes NO driving skills driving on a straight line
5) You can clearly see in the video that the M6 accelerates much faster than GTR.
6) One magazine says this the other says that, this was real life, same day, same road..

The music is because you cant hear anything but wind noise. Next time ill try have passenger with Hand held camera for sound.

Hartge Germany already has a very mild conversion of 700hp 860nm for M5 / M6 and AC schnitzer 640hp 820nm

I heard if you use the Gtr's launch control around 10 times it will brake the transmission. Then you'll need to pay 30,000 to fix it. lol

From what I understand, this was a problem for early model GTR's, when they claimed a 3.0 sec 0-60 or some craziness. Now they reduced the time to mid 3's by reducing the tranny's grab on the launch, thereby increasing the longevity of the transmission. Also, I believe early GTR's had a voided warranty for using launch control for this very reason. It has since been rectified, I believe.

i think you looked at the wrong data sheet.
Lets say the description in the video is right, so the car has 542 bhp.
That would be an 2012 Nissan GT-R (Mk 3) .

That means 0-200 is done in 10.6 s (and not 12.2 s)

or lets take as a fact that that car you are racing again in that video makes 0-200 in 12.2 s.
That would mean that it is an "old" gt-r with 473 bhp:

(both 2008 -2012 Gt-R look almost the same BTW)

so almost 80 hp less than your m6.
And finally the video would fully make sense....
a 2012 should be faster than the M6, just as much as the M6 should be faster than the 2008 model.

Dude what difference does this all make. Regardless of all you data analysis.. The M6 clearly killed it..
