The people over at AutoSpies were invited to a media launch event in beautiful Mexico for the new 6-Series. They have put their massive 13 page gallery from the event online, just follow the source link to see the whole gallery!

These pics are a great representation of Vermillion Red in real life sunlight, the color just shines on the sexy 6-series lines! BMW is also offering BMW Individual on the 6-series which was photographed here in Tansanite Blue.

PRICING:
BMW has just been announced that the 2012 6-Series 650i Coupe [info/specs] will be priced from $83,875, including destination, and will go on sale late summer. The coupe comes in at a lower price than the 6-series convertible, which starts at $91,375, including destination charges.

Manual Transmission:
A manual transmission for the 6-series will not be available at launch, but will be available soon after release.

M6:
BMW also confirmed a new M6 at the event

Diesel:
No diesel 6-series planed for the US market

Kudos to whomever designed the wheels on the car in the top photos. Nice!

Are BimmerPost at this event for the 650i Convertible ? Seeing as they did not go to Cape Town for the International Press event?

They raised the msrp over $5,000 from the last 6-series coupe. They are nuts.

Agreed, but the rear wheels look a little either narrow or small. Something just seems off about the back ones.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

With the CLS starting at 71K, all I can say is good luck moving these. With similar power, ~200 lbs lighter, and with more standard features (their packages are also very competitively priced. I could spec out a CLS and still save coin on the MSRP of the 650i. Plus i think the CLS looks good.

Also the E550 coupe. Yes the 6-series is supposed to be considered more exclusive. But let’s face it people buying this big 6-series are not enthusiasts. Mostly likely just badge whores. People can get a Mercedes badge for almost $30k less and the Benz offer tons of options. Park the two cars side by side, loaded with options. Non-car people with have a tough time figuring out why the 6-series cost $30k more.

Nice photos.

I hate the wheels on the red car in the later pics. Wheels in the first pics look great.

Otherwise I'm not sold on this car. I have not seen one in person yet so I am still reserving judgment. I think it looks kinda generic ... not aggressive in any sense, not like the previous 6.

Now under normal circumstances I would agree with you, but you have to remember that benz has upped their game (pricing as also driving feel of their cars), while BMW is sliding down a slippery slope. The smart money is on the CLS. You REALLY want to have a 650i to spend that coin. I will probably end up with the CLS

Oh, I agree. I think the new CLS550 blows this thing away. The new CLS is one of my favorite cars right now, Benz priced it very well. I was just trying to give a coupe vs coupe perspective. I honestly couldn't spend $30k more on a 6-series coupe, over an E550 coupe (want those message seats).

The only issue I have with benz is that they have detuned this motor in their lesser applications. The CL (as will the S/ SL) get 446hp/516 torques (I may have the #s a little skewed), while the CLS gets 402hp/442 torques. If they had given the same power/ torque combination, there was no contest. CLS all day every day

I saw these wheels at the dealership yesterday. They are hot - it's hard to take your eyes off of them.

Best wheels from BMW in a long time.

And the interior is full-on sex. Beautiful.
