You clicked and downloaded the PDFs and can't read anything on the PDFs?

It has to be done on a computer, not on the BIMMERPOST App.

That would be it!

Since I can't access a computer right now, is oyster leather a stand alone option? How much?

I don't see an Oyster leather option. But I'm pretty happy overall! Compared to the 2012 650xi I configured, the 2013 version actually costs less by $595. And the 2013 includes several things that the 2012 version didn't (engine upgrade, ceramic controls, frontal collision warning, ? auto high beams (not sure how you get this on the 2012), and shadowline exterior trim on the M-sport).

What kind of engine upgrade does the MY13 get?

valvetronic (variable valve lift control with double VANVOC) - code name for engine N63Tu - only for 650 ... NOT for 640

Oh what's this? Imola Red for the Coupe and Convertible now too? That is news to me - I thought that was only for the Gran Coupe. This should make a lot of folks happy.

The 640i uses the N55, so it has had Valvetronic all along.

I think BMW is losing it. Don't get me wrong, I love their cars. But why all of these major changes year to year? It seems to be more frequent as time goes on. For example, the redesigned dash changes recently announced on the f10 5 series from 2012-2013. The new changes and the 40hp difference for the 2013 650i vs the 2012 model. The 2008 E90 m3 had old idrive and old tail lights. In 2009, new idrive and LCI tailights. I understand they are "improvements" but from a customer standpoint, its annoying and expensive to keep up with. We buy BMW's for luxury and performance and to own a high quality vehicles, not to have an "obsolete" model after 8 months. Am I the only one annoyed by this?

I agree. Imagine the guy/gal who ordered and got the last batch of June 2012 production, then July production for MY2013 within a week or two of MY2012 ends. Meaning, the car is 'obsolete' even before he/she took delivery.

For sure, I would be pissed ... big time.

It's a good thing the 550 and 650 got a 40hp bump those cars were dangerously underpowered!

to be clear. ONLY 550GT gets the bump. Not the regular 550i sedan

As cars become more and more computerized, their technology evolves more and more rapidly because of it. If BMW sat back and did not keep up with the latest advancements, then they would lose ground to their competitors. Also, these competitors introduce new models on different schedules than BMW and they invariably come packed with new features. There is no room for waiting around just to keep existing owners copasetic.

I am sure you are not the only one annoyed by this phenomenon. However, I don't think you will escape it by choosing a different brand of vehicle. So perhaps is is best to just accept it as the price of doing business and try to enjoy the car you have. Just my thoughts.

A few guys who posted on the new of the 5 series dashboard upgrade news were still in production and or already on the ship coming over to take delivery. For those of us who want the "newest" model when we dish out this kind of money, its getting ridiculous. I would be furious if it were my car

Do I sense some sarcasm?

BMW is merely trying to keep ahead of Mercedes and Audi who offer 429hp and 420hp respectively in this class now.

Although as someone points out above, the 5 Series Sedan (and presumably wagon) has been left out of the party for some reason. All MY2013 6 and 7 series V8 models get the N63Tu though. I am not sure about the X5 and X6.

Sarcasm, not at all I'm just green with envy because I don't have the coin for a ride like that and my slightly older neighbors across the street have a 535 GTxi and an X6 AND an e60 535xi (3 different neighbors withing 5 houses of eachother no less!)

mkoesel, all fun aside can you please email me, I need your moderator help because I can't start a new topic, PM, or respond to a thread unless I use the quick reply.

Thanks!

No you are not the only one. In December 2011 I shelled out a hundred fucking grand for a 650 M Sport. I am fucking pissed.

Hey bobblehead, that guy would be me. I'm taking European delivery on July 9th for my 650xi. Meaning my car goes into production sometime around June 25th? That sucks a fat one. You think they might cut me some slack?!

look this is why you never get 1st yr MY BMW's - they always change shit in yr 2 and 3, then it settles down for the next 4-5 yrs of the life cycle.
