yeah - good news they are delivering the headliner to my local BMW garage on Tuesday so won’t be long before they can fit it - assuming there are no complications

Hi Havy (or anyone reading this) , hope you don’t me asking you a question about my bumper. Looks like before I bought the car there was some bumper damage and I’m probably being fussy but it irritates me there is a bigger gap on the right end where it joins the bonnet (facing the the front) - you can see the lower part is pushed slightly towards the lens. It’s not as obvious from other angles but I know it’s there

Do you think a body shop could straighten by pulling it up 1cm or do you think a full replacement is the only way? I’ll ask my dealer when it goes in for the headliner fit but thought I’d get another opinion.

As the bumper is plastic I wonder it I could heat it up with my heat gun and simply move it slightly myself - see crude example?

Thanks in advance

It’s probably not a big comfort but mine looks the same. Also the left side. You can try to adjust the bumper with the screws inside.

Thanks, that’s very interesting - in fact now you mention it I have seen a similar gap on other cars too. I’ll have a look and see if I can adjust it with that screw - maybe it an adjustment. Thanks for the prompt advice. Regards

Hello, hope all is well. I am in the process of replacing my headliner and have searched everywhere with little to almost no info on this. I came accross this post and saw where the headliner has to come off from the front driver's side. The link to the TIS is no longer working. Could someone help me with this please? I removed both seats and rear bench, but still not able to angle it right. I also removed the rear view mirror and steering wheel to no avail. The center console keeps getting the way, or it seems that way at least. Will gladly send a beer donation via PayPal to the person that has this information 😀.

Update: I had to remove the center console and that created enough room to guide it through the driver's door. Still, a very tight squeeze.

The alcantara liner in my car separated/fell while it was at my service shop recently. I need to replace my roof liner now. Appreciate the tip on the center console as I might end up doing some of the work myself.

To the OP. The headliner looks amazing on the car. Was this a custom made liner?

Did it on my F13 about a year ago. Removed all pillar covers (A, B and C), steering wheel, sun visors and rear view mirror. Had to lay the seats as flat as possible but it will be better if they are removed. Didn’t removed the center console but had to bend the headliner a little bit (like a taco) to be able to get it out. If someone is going to do it, be careful with the metal brackets located on the back of the headliner that attach to the C pillar.

I also need to have my windshield replaced. Has anyone had any experience getting the liner out and back in through the windshield?

Anyone know why the black headliner is 5k retail? Other color variations are in the 2k price range.

My headliner fell while it. This probably doesn't happen a lot but it likely sat under the Florida sun for at least 6 weeks while it was waiting to have the clutches taken out. My car is garage kept so this prolonged sitting while waiting for likely was it's down fall.

I think mine is anthracite so I may not be getting the full force of the M tax but man I have been getting all the M taxes. I guess on the positive side my windshield is cracked and has to be replaced so getting the headliner out and back in will occur during that service.

I am on the fence on going full Alcantara or buying a new one that has the leather strip up the middle and Alcantara on the left and right. If the re-covering turns out to be more cost permissive, I may go that route but one of my concerns is the headliner falling again in the future.
