BMW 6-series Gran Coupe Spotted For First Time!
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW 6-series Gran Coupe Spotted For First Time! Introducing for the first time - the production BMW 6-series gran coupe spied during testing! The beautiful 6-series gran coupe is a sedan-coupe take on the F13 6-series coupe and features frameless windows. As earlier patent images revealed, the Gran Coupe shows the same front and rear bumpers as the existing 6-series models F12 and F13. The 6-series Gran Coupe is quite a bit longer than the 6-series coupe and convertible. The Concept Gran Coupe unveiled back in 2010 has a length of over 5m (197 inches) while the 6-series coupe is 4.9m or 192.7 inches. These spy shots suggest a similar increase in size. BMW apparently is so fond of the Gran Coupe idea that they're already looking into a Gran Coupe version based on the next 3-series. This car might be called the 4-series Gran Coupe, and according to sources, an M4 Gran Coupe is being considered as well. Expect the 6-series gran coupe to hit showroom floors sometime in 2012. |

Oh boy, here we go! Bring on the era of the BMW Gran Coupe. First the 6, then the 4, and maybe even a 2. These are going to become very popular cars, despite carrying pricetags that will undoubtedly be at least as high as their two-door coupe counterparts (and thus somewhat higher their 5-seat sedan counterparts).

Well Mercedes has done the same thing. The CL was a 2 door S-Class, but the CLS was a 4 door CL and had frameless doors too. This 6 Gran-Coupe is without a doubt targeting the Audi A7 and Mercedes CLS in the 4 door coupe segment. The new CLS and A7 are looking mighty fine, but it looks like BMW has a winner here too. I prefer this to the F10 5er body, and to some extent the coupe version of this car.

I don't see what is the point of this car. In fact, I don't see the point or purpose of any 4-door coupe. Such a waste and the 6 is ugly anyway.

not at all!!! For people that need 4 doors but want a sexy car still.. this is it! This looks 10 times better than the 5 or 7 IMO.

Hey guys, this car is not a new concept. The concept car has been introduced here and can seen on youtube. This one should be the trial car for production.

scott... The idea of the 6er gran coupe is great, a 4 door coupe is easily the most practical and sexiest designs of any sports car... But would be great if they can shorten the rear doors and remove the door handle... It would still be a 4 door but closer looking to the coupe...

Looks good, I also think the arches will be more pronounced than they look in these photos, I think the white colour and the camo flattens the contours alot.
I guess no chance of the N74 finding its way into the engine bay? Last edited by Matski; 06-22-2011 at 04:08 PM.. |

Oh yes!
It makes sense to me. I want a 4door car and even better if it is attractive in a way that coupes, convertibles and roadsters are. Cars you stare at and desire to own. Cars that go up on your wishlist and screensavers. One could argue that coupes are pointless, if you have a back seat, why not doors to access them?.. thats not the point. They are sleeker and sexier.
