Hi All,

If I wanted to increase the exhaust volume and dont care about performance gains, should I add a catted downpipe (like the AA downpipe) or just change the exhaust (to AA valved catback)?

Do you get similar sound levels with both mods?

Of course doing both would increase the sound even more, but I am interested in a single modification and comparison between these.

If you are going for sound, just do catback exhaust.

I would add both.

AA and MPE, not too loud not too silent. Just enough.

^^Agreed. I didn’t absolutely fall in love with my MPE until after I installed the AA Catted downpipe. The sound really opened up along with turbo spool noises. It’s also not that loud, imo. If you’re looking for a more subtle exhaust.

i'd start with the active autowerke downpipe for the sound.

if you want more, get an exhaust, i'd go with AWE/Dinan/Active Autowerke over MPE

Yes you would be amazed at how much louder the stock exhaust becomes after just the AA Catted DP install

I was going to do both DP & exhaust, but after the DP install it was loud enough for me on the M440

Plus the AA DP will give you more power

Now on my 435 F32 I wanted louder so I went with the AA DP + AWE Touring (1st without res, then later added a res)
