Traffic Camera Information UK - anyone purchased this?

Under 'bookable services' in my iDrive there are two options, one for M-Adaptive Suspension and the other for 'Traffic Camera Information'.

Has anyone in the UK purchased this? Does it work? Any good - does it alert on approach in the map view/dash/HUD? How much was it?

Cheers!

Hi there, yes I paid the sub - £20 for a year. It gives you a warning in the HUD 2000 yards out, then counts you down from 1000 yards in increments of 200. It's nice and prominent and you don't need to have a destination set for them to appear each time. I'd say worth it.

Definitely worth it. Especially if you have the Head Up Display.

So I went for it... and I'm a little underwhelmed.

Problems:
- I'm not getting any traffic camera information on the HUD. It only appears on the instrument cluster on the right hand side and it's so subtle it's easy to miss.
- Warnings are only appearing 200ft out and no count-down, this is useless as at 200ft you may have already been pinged by the camera.

Are there settings anywhere that I need to tweak for this?

Yes, there is a setting in "Displays" where you have to select the "traffic information" (or something similar) to appear on the HUD, then the traffic camera info appears on the right hand side of the HUD whenever there's a camera.

Thanks I will give this a go.

I read on the X5 forum users having similar issues and it seems even if you have this already set (which I'm pretty sure I do), you might need unset it and re-set it to get it to stick for the camera info also.

Does the notification distance vary with speed limit? Also I know some roads which have cameras less than 1000' apart!

I think it must do. I haven't been on a motorway since buying the add-on, around town in 30 zones I'm fairly certain I'm only getting the warning at 200ft.

Perhaps, on the a5 near Cannock, it notifies as I come of one of the roundabouts upto it, that's a 40 zone and deffo happens at 1000ft
