IX3 Wheels - Hate it or Love it ?
As many people are not liking the standard Aerodynamic wheels, this thread is for showing how you solved it ? New rims, color coated, modded ...
As I do not have mine yet, I cannot show pics yet, but on another forum I saw someone posting this. U fortunately they did not show the entire modded wheel: |

I was just looking at this youtube video and wondering the same...
In the video the ix3 has the same wheels but at one side without the alu covers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpMGl-lK7HA And i have found some pics..looks good! The dark grey one has also the M-sport package (i dont prefer M badges for not being an M...) |

Another youtube vid from some turkish guy i guess. No idea what he is talking about but he is showing a lot of details, including the wheels without alu covers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ufhuNJfPok and here another one, black with blue accents...that will be enough for now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPy76OINhvY Last edited by Sevenland82; 05-24-2021 at 03:31 PM.. |

Thanks, I missed those vids. The rims look a lot better without those silver caps on them. Too bad about the screwholes though, but still ... small price to pay.
I'll try that before buying new ones then. Still waiting on Jim Pastell's pics of his aftermarket rims though :-) |

Efficiency result
Curious to see the efficiency result with modified rims.
I am now on the closed rims as my summerwheels. The consumption came down from 225 Wh/km (on wintertires) to 204 now after 4800km and two months on each set. Other factors are outside temp, no more heating. I do not use the A/C either, so the consumption will creep up again when that will be used. |

Boom!
Stance is way better than OEM. I'm happy with the result 😃

So the dealer has told me that the iX3 in UK spec will have all black alloy wheels with the edges of the rim being in silver as seen in the previous posting which shows the car in the grey colour. Personally I like this rather than the Bi colour.

The build video for the UK spec shows them as black with black inserts:
And the option code for the UK spec states Aero Black Alloy Wheels (1V7). I'd rather all black than the silver rim, but its much better than the silver inserts! |

Yeah I noticed that in the video above. Not sure which ones they will be. Called the dealer and he says that he thought it was the alloys as shown in web pages and in the brochure as they are UK specific.

Hi guys I can’t seem to get them off, the upper side comes loose but more towards the center stays stuck, I’m afraid of putting too much pressure on it and break it, any ideas? Who has done this? Thanks

Are you removing the bolt that holds each of the plastic trims on? You will need to take the wheel off to access the bolts at the rear of each wheel.

Hi all, I removed the plastic trims, which I did without removing any of the wheels, it was a bit fiddly but easily done with a small bit ratchet, well worth the effort though.

After removing covers a screws did you re-balanced wheels or they are ok?
5 of them have some wheigt for each wheel. This was my concern if removed and whit full black covers they are not so bad. |

No I didn’t have to balance the wheels. The trims and bolts are evenly distributed around the wheel so it was an even removal of weight

HI All.
I am looking for the black inserts, that are mounted on the Premier Pro 20" wheels, as opposed to the the ones on mine EU "Impressive" version. Could anyone here help me with either a part number, or a VIN-number for a UK Premier Pro vehicle? Thanks Peter |

I've looked at the parts I removed and none of the numbers on them appear to be BMW part numbers, I think they will only be available as part of a complete wheel package.

I hope someone with access to ETK in the UK can look up the part number, otherwise a vin-number might make it possible for me to do here. Could also just wrap my inserts, but the lazy solution would be to buy a set, if possible. Rgds Peter |
