Lol. It wasn’t bad when stock as it was either that or mute. I’ve read ppl on the forums saying the drone was insane once they got a full exhaust. One guy even sold his exhaust because of it, but prior to knowing about active sound altogether

Yeah, I removed the module from the trunk. I’ve done some pretty loud exhausts on my old Viper and E55AMG. For me the drone is a bit much unless just really on the car...I’m so torn to try the stock midpipe to see but do like the wide open throttle sound as it is. If I go valved I just worry how easy that is to adapt after the fact and more cost for 20% of my driving.
I had a w211 E55 with Meisterschaft mufflers and resonator delete. The drone was absolutely awful. It sounds amazing tho. I sold the exhaust and got kleeman headers. Drone was a lot less.

On the M6 there is little drone but no where near as much was the E55 did. I have meisterschaft downpipes, stock resonators in place, some point will replace for the meisterschaft mid pipe and have the meisterschaft mufflers.

Intersting, it's like the exact opposite for for me:

E55 AMG:
ARH LongTubes - X-Pipe - Stock Resonator - C63 Mufflers
*ZERO Drone & AMAZING sound. Had many replicate as was so PERFECT!

M6GC:
Stock DP's - Mesiterschaft LXR Pipe w/ Velocity Box - SGT (non valved) Mufflers
*Drone's 1,800-2,200 RPM, playing though the gears it's better.

So while it sounds great WOT and higher RPM's I may look to either: 1- Add stock piping (given it's resonated) vs. LXR Pipe or 2- Adapt to the valved system which GTHAUS said can be done. With anything it's small tweaks to dial it in to your preference. I hate to mess with the set-up more but it is a bit much for what I want and at cruising speed in traffic I don't want to just run at a higher RPM to minimize.

Sounds like your getting old ,I kid, just put a bottle of Excedrin in the center console problem solved
