1. Im looking at 14/15 reg as the prices are good at this level with 30/40k
2. Am i better waiting until Jan to try and haggle some money off instead of right on xmas
3. What is a must have, i want comfort seats with lumbar.. the m6 seems to be highly spec’d as standard.. heated steering is a plus

Comfort seats are nearly always standard. The way to tell them apart is that they have a separate headrest which matches the rear seats on an F12 or F13. The sports seats have built in headrests and match the rear seats of the F06. I thought both options had lumbar though. The ones below mention it.

This car has the sport seats and you can see their style really doesn't match the rear seats

This car has the comfort seat option

This car has the sports seats front which match the rear seats in an F06:

Finally here is an F06 with comfort seats front which don't match the rears

This time last year when I was looking for mine I did see there were a lot of M6s for sale in the UK and they stayed around for a long time. By about March or so most had been sold, I think I remember around 20-25 Coupes listed and by March there was about 10. At that time there were still lots that were only a few months old and were 60-80k pounds, now there are none.

As such I'd recommend buying in January. The dealers will have had the car since November probably or even earlier and are thinking it will be there for another 2 or 3 months before it actually sells.

I ended up buying an NZ new one because I really wanted LCI, Comp Pack, Ventilated Seats and the only NZ new Comp Pack came up for sale at the perfect time for me. Very few cars in the UK have Ventilated seats. LCI came out early 2015 so you should be OK there.

Ah i see, the LCI changes were what exactly? Im not too fussed about the facelift just wanted a high spec. Yeah id prefer the comfort to the sports seats as the 640d i had, had sports seats and they were terrible. I know they are different seats but id much prefer the others

Pretty much headlights is the only external change. Look out for cars with the bigger idrive controller - this is the newer system and the graphics are much better.

Here in Oz they had a “mid facelift” model, MY14.5 which had the bigger iDrive controller, and a slightly improved graphics, but the pre-LCI external features... Also, CP was offered here for the 14.5, with 575 hp, the LCI CP is 600 hp... Otherwise not many changes...

Just make sure that your dealer accepts the gap in the history for warranty purpose.

Do you plan on modifying it at all?

That extra 300 mile on the running in would put me off, i think its within the specified tolerance but why chance it, there are now many cars around, I am surprised that its gone 27k miles to 1st service, generally your talking 12-16k miles depending on driving use.

I would say that the single most important thing is CONDITION. Get a thorough PPI done, preferably at a BMW dealership or at least by an indy mechanic that specializes in BMW, and if the car passes, buy it. Accessories on a car that's a 'problem child' won't make up for the headaches and expenses you'll have from fixing it constantly.

Fortunately, this model seems to be fairly reliable, as reports of the 80k mile M6 owners would suggest.

If you're asking what I had as a priority:
B&O sound system
HUD
Ventilated seats
20" rims

Good hunting!
