I think the F1 management updated the highlights reel to add Crofty's bit. I checked it early on after the race it had the low-quality B-squad on it.

It's double edged for me…I want Williams to have a better result amongst the rest but really want Seb and AM to have that result. So torn.

Can we talk about wholesome for a second? That sabbatical for Alonso must've done something. So awesome.

Couldn’t agree more. Neither of those drivers are my “favorites” but I don’t truly loathe any driver like many here. Watching a two time world champion hold it down so damned well giving his man the opportunity at the front was NOT what I remember from Alonso. I did NOT personally like today’s race and each season brings me 1-2 races I wish I could erase, and this was one. That said, Alonso was front and center to the only bit I enjoyed today.

Still crying because seb could've won but couldn't pass Ocon and it wouldn't matter in the end anyways because of the DQ.

Don't agree. Strongly disliked it. Turn one BUTTASS ruined it. Verstappen wasn't in it. Vettel handed his second podium the same way and it's taken from him. If I could delete a race this season, it's this one. I won't even get into my boy Lando getting the prison treatment

So much goodness I nearly forgot about Lando being out of the race. He could have netted a great result for today as well.

It leads me to think this is the reason Vettel wasn't pushing harder to challenge Ocon. He would've ran out of fuel.

Absolutely...its been great to see Seb get his Mojo back.
Ocon and Seb at the front was great for the sport and the majority of proper F1 fans have celebrated their results and one of the most fun and drama filled races in F1 history [1].

But rules is rules....stopping on track at the end of the race with 1/15 of a gallon of fuel just pushed their luck too far.
I can't see AMs appeal will go anywhere....the 1 litre sample must be available to be extracted using the procedure set out in the regulations.

[1] The wailing and gnashing of teeth by the more belligerent Verstappen fans just adds an extra piquancy.

Here is my take.

- That lap 1 was brutal. Poor Lando, Max, Perez and Leclerc.
- I think Stroll got off easy. His mistake was overshadowed by Bottas' but it was the same error. Mistimed braking. I do not think it was caused by the crash already started in front of him either
- It was fun having Ocon and Seb battling for P1
- Sucks that Seb got DQ'd
- At least with Lando getting crashed out, all of his competitors for that P3 slot were out as well
- Great recovery drive from Hamilton and a great strategy that gave him the opportunity
- Tough day for Max
- Horner and Helmut need to shut up though. No way that was intentional from Bottas, also with the speed he was going in at, he wouldnt have been certain he wouldnt clip Ham too, he almost did.

EDIT:
I almost forgot about Mick! What a drive that kid put on. He raced them hard but fair. It must have been fun for him to actually get to do some racing. Looks like he has a bright future.z

Post Race Analysis from Autosport about RBR.

This is a great post-race analysis from Autosport about Red Bull and their need to perform a complete reset over the summer:

A return of just five points across Silverstone and Budapest has seen Red Bull lose the lead of both championships, leaving it in need of a reset heading into the summer break.

On outright pace, Verstappen should have a healthy lead over Hamilton in the drivers’ standings, barring the incidents in the last two races and the failure in Baku that denied him a surefire victory.

But title fights are rarely a case of ‘man with fastest car wins’. There will always be setbacks, requiring drivers to dig deep and recover. The Turn 1 incident was sheer bad luck for Verstappen, but has left him with a hole to dig out of in the second half of the season.

The confidence of having the fastest car might not be quite as strong as it once was, with Mercedes appearing to make a decent step with the Silverstone update. But this still feels like Red Bull’s title to lose.

If it can come back fighting at Spa and, importantly for Verstappen, Zandvoort, then the title will again be in its hands. Champions are formed by how they deal with adversity, meaning the response to the recent disappointment will be critical to Red Bull’s season.

Further:

It’s not only on-track where Red Bull has been suffering lately.

The team waged a fairly aggressive war of words with Mercedes in the wake of Verstappen and Hamilton’s crash at Silverstone, doing little to defuse things even when Mercedes tried to calm the matter.

But it ended in fairly shambolic fashion after the FIA threw out the request to review the case when Red Bull offered no new evidence, but had instead created evidence from the accident in a bid to try and fight its case.

The stewards’ note of “allegations” made by Red Bull - which were did disclosed as the matter was put to bed - also indicates the belligerence shown by the team did not stop even when it came to a formal hearing.

PLUS: How Red Bull endured its second car crash in two weeks

Mercedes was emphatic in its response, saying it hoped the ruling would put an end to Red Bull’s efforts to “tarnish” Hamilton’s name. Sadly, the boos from the orange-clad fans after both qualifying and the race in Hungary show that the damage has already been done.

Yet Red Bull has also seen its own perception and role in this title fight change. Once the underdog that could give some fresh blood to the championship and perhaps end Mercedes’ domination - an attractive proposition to the neutral fan - it has come out of this whole affair very badly.

All of this from Autosport. One of the most respected Motorsports Publications in the world.
