Goodbye to this forum

Hi everyone,

I just want to thank you all for your help and advice since I first signed up on this 6 Series forum.

With my extended warranty running out I am purchasing a '16 Panamera GTS. Although it is not as pretty as the GC, it has its own very cool character and design and the engine, transmission, suspension, braking, sound and overall driving dynamics are simply better than in the GC. The interior is also a big step up.

It is going to cost me quite a bit more but it is time to move on. I really enjoyed my GC and I will miss it but I still have my '07 Z4 3.0si to keep me company on those warm summer days.

Thanks again and good luck to all.

Lisa

Will miss your female ownership perspective which may see some things with a slightly different view...but best wishes with the new Panamera.

If you get board...stop back in...you may see a thread that with your past ownership...may be able to help answer or shed some light on.

My wife is the gear head in the family, she drives a 2017 manual gear box Corvette in the summer and 650 convertible in the winter and she is 66 yr old. So there are some sporty ladies out there.
Me, I just drive the family SUV and surf this forum.
Good luck with the GTS, nice car

Good luck with the Panamera. Funny...I'm in a 650I GC and as my extended warranty will be expiring, I also really considered a 2014-2016 Panamera GTS. I agree 100% with everything you said in comparing the 2 cars. I love the sound of the GTS V8, the handling is amazing, and the interior is very sporty. Also there is just a special something about the way Porsches drive. But like you mentioned, the Panamera just isn't as pretty as the GC. The Panamera looks awesome from the front but kind of loses it in the side profile and rear angles. I even looked into a '17 Panamera 4S which slightly prettier but loses the V8. The '17 and newer Turbos and GTS are still a bit out of my price range. Anyway, you made a great choice...I'm sure you'll have lots of fun in that Panamera!

Good luck, and learn to grin and bear too-frequent repetition of the Porsche/porcupine joke. I may not agree that all of the non-visuals are 'better', but in some cases 'different'. I'm in Europe and do a lot of kms on impeccable Dutch roads and diesel is much cheaper (and I love torque), so the 640d is preferable for me for more reasons than I find it a far nicer looking car. I have a friend who worships his Panamera, and he posted a photo on FB shortly after buying it. A string of likes, loves and compliments, until someone said it felt the same as when someone posts a picture of an unattractive baby -- comments like "Adorable" and "So special". Thereafter open season on the Panamera derriere ;-). While the Panamera is indeed renowned for the fugly rear, when people remark about the color or look of a car I point out that you don't see it when you drive it, and that's what really counts.
