Hey everyone. Joined last year with the anticipation of picking up a 6series soon after but the market had other plans and I didn't grab one till a couple weeks ago.
My previous car of 10yrs was a 2007 Acura TL Type-S. It was a great car and still kinda miss it but it was time for an upgrade. The 650 was delivered on 6/5 and brought to the detail shop a couple days later for xpel and ceramic coating. I wish I had the money to do this when I first bought the TL. Seeing the two products work together is really cool. I'll stop with the boring stuff and post some pics. First time camera user so goes easy I got a suggestion to buy a 50mm from another member on Acurazine and I've been pretty happy with the results so far. Haven't had the time to put them in Lightroom yet, these are just the raw photos. ***Well first post fail. Tried uploading pictures through Imgur and it looks like I screwed something up Last edited by J_ONeill; 07-06-2021 at 09:54 PM.. |

I tried installing some black grills when the car was delivered but the unit for the night vision was really in the way when trying to release the grill clips. Is it best to just remove the front bumper? |

If you have night vision, then you need a special grill. The part with the round hole where the lens is mounted is part of the grill. I have never seen an aftermarket grill for cars with night vision. But yes, although people with cars w/o night vision manage to do that job with the bumper on, I would take the bumper off. I can have mine off in 20 minutes. The hardest parts are figuring out how to disconnect the two main electrical connectors (the two sides are different) and disconnecting the electrical connector and washer hose from the night vision camera. Tight quarters and you need to do it with the bumper partly pulled out, so best to have a helper.

Someone posted a pdf for the front bumper removal with night vision so I might look into that and just paint the grill. Maybe just use the new black Hyperdip from plastidip so if it doesn't look good I can just remove it and not ruin the grill |

If you want details on the removal, including the night vision, I can provide them. I can do it in my sleep. The night vision is not too hard once you know how to do it. I live in a city, so I have yet to use the night vision screen except as a party trick.

And just FYI, your night vision is actually always "on". Even if you do not press the button to get the infrared heat image on the iDrive screen, if a deer or person is in front of your car in the dark a red deer or person image will appear in your cluster.

With the madness of the market/covid I bought the car from a dealer in PA without test driving it. So in my head I wasnt sure how fast the car was stock and started planing to go BM3 St2 immediately. Car arrived and stock was plenty fast, for now at least. Having said that I still want to stay on top of the maintenance when it comes to the plugs and coils.
- Should I still replace them now? Car has 30k miles - When I do downpipes w/no tune? - Wait till I go full St2? |

Is there any other general maintenance I should keep an eye on around this mile mark? Rear pads and rotors were done at the dealer right before I bought the car. What about transmission fluid? |

Nothing specific at those miles. If you have no record of it being done in the last 2 or three years, I'd flush the brake fluid. Check both coolant reservoirs - one at the driver's side rear and one dead center up front under the engine cover. It is separate systems, and the one up front has no low level warning. Check your air filters and cabin air filters. My car was CPO and had half a hay field in one air box. Just give it that basic once over. Tranny fluid advice ranges from never change it to maybe 70,000 miles. Check to see if you have the old style crankcase breather hoses and see if they are cracked or if you see oil on the silver tray they lay on.
