Brake pads

Hi could someone please help me out and tell me where they have got them before or I can get oem brake pads from that will include everything I need. I did a search for part number 34212449304 just want to make sure before ordering. I've seen some for 100 and other for 150. BMW website indicates it may cost 230 installed from dealer. I've never changed them diy before but thought if I'm saving enough I'll give it a go. Thanks

A brake job is no harder than any other car, it is absolutely a diy job. I would stay away from the oem pads as they dust like crazy. If you search there are several pads that people have posted good results with, but overall I prefer Akebono. Little dust, wont sqeak, and very good breaking performance.

Thank you for the input guys. I have found oem brake pads dust way too much perhaps an alternative maybe a better option. Squealing has put me off not sticking with oem in the past.

I keep reading mixed reviews about the soft bite of Akebono.. not that Im planning to go racing just want want to be pressing hard all the time for real breaking needs.. also living in Canada it makes the break a bit more sensitive to cold weather
