30Amp/32Volt Fuse for Rear Defroster
So my rear defroster stopped working and I suspected a blown fuse. The fuse block is in the trunk and the defroster has two fuses, both listed as 30 Amp (Green), at location 203 & 204. One is a "quick blow" fuse and the other is a regular 30 Amp fuse. I pulled both and the "quick blow" fuse was blown. Now I'm not sure which location of the two needed the quick blow fuse. Location 203 & 204 are at the upper right hand corner of the fuse block. The Quick Blow fuse is opaque green and the regular fuse is clear green. I think the quick blow was at 204 but I'm not sure.
Can anyone help me with which is which as far as location? Thanks in advance. I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture before I pulled them. |

I’m not at a place where I can get to the car...but I have a pic of the rear fuse box in my “stash”. If you’re on a tablet or your phone...you may be able to easily resize (blow up) the pic in case you need a better view.

Thank you for that information, unfortunately the photo is not clear enough to determine which fuse is "translucent" and which one is "opaque". It's even difficult to see the color of the fuses. Both are green. Again they are located in the upper right hand corner of the fuse block. If you could take a better pic of that area when you get a chance, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks again. |

I have a photo for you, just trying to get it to upload.
Here we go: Like yours, both of mine are 30 amp, AND BOTH are opaque. They look identical to one another (i pulled them out and looked at both of them). Last edited by Luftpost; 01-13-2021 at 09:46 AM.. Reason: Succeeded in adding photo. |

Luftpost,
That's interesting. I'd call those semi-transparent since you can just see the element inside. Below are what mine that I took out looked like. Bottom line is that I just installed two just like the two of yours. A little history: A couple years ago I had a failure of the defroster to work and under warranty the service department said that fuse at 203 was blown and apparently they replaced it with the opaque fuse in the picture. The rest of the system checked out normal. When I checked the part number on the work order (i.e.61-13-1-372-628) at a BMW parts supply house, it came back that is was "not for my 2013 BMW". Thanks for your help, I know that those two fuses are not easy to get to. |
