Softer brake pads for daily driving?

Hi all,

Anyone know of softer brake pads for daily driving? Would be nice to use brakes at low speeds without that dreaded squealing.

Thanks!

Ceramic brake pads are a great choice for everyday use. They are quiet, produce less dust than other types of pads as they wear down and are reliable in all kinds of driving conditions. These pads are made from a dense and durable ceramic with embedded fine copper fibers to increase friction and stopping power.

I've used these on several vehicles, always with success. Easy to order through tirerack.com.

I just bought my 2013 M6 thru my local BMW dealer with 42k mi, and they replaced the front pads. The first few times I took it out the squeal was embarrassingly loud and I was afraid I'd have to deal with it forever, but it did stop after a couple hundred miles thankfully.

OEM pads hate slow speed urban driving… The squeal disappears with proper use - need to drive it like it's meant to be driven…

Yup, I gave a few of my friends joyrides and really leaned on the brakes, all good now

Powerstop Z23 are a good option for low dust and no squeal. Put these on my X5M and wished I would've done it the day they became available. Haven't put these on my M6 yet (pads are in the garage), mainly because the OE pads don't squeal much on the M6 and I don't drive it as much. But the dust is annoying on the frozen white paint.

Thanks for all the replies! Yea they really aren't bad, just figured I'd ask. A few really hard stops every so often and the brakes are quiet for a while.

Cheers
