► Soft Close Door Malfunction
my f13 m6 has comfort access and soft close doors. my passenger door is working fine:
1. stick hand in door and car unlocks 2. open door handle 3. glass rolls down slightly before door opens 4. close door lightly 5. soft close door activates and closes door 6. glass rolls up slightly i noticed on my driver door comfort access still works (unlock + lock), however the soft close does not. when the door is closed lightly, i hear the soft close motor moving but it is not latching and unable to physically close the door. the glass does not appear to slightly go down either. anyone else experience this problem? if so, what was the fix?

Just had this happen on the x5. I just purchased a second hand soft close motor online. Sadly though it looks like this isn't a separate, replaceable part on the 6er which explains the high price tag.
Technically what's most likely happened is there's a break between the soft close motor and the door lock. Most probably the end cap on the Bowden cable has come off where it connects to the lock assembly. |
