please less car salesman... more like a buddy
I am sorry but i just cannot stand this guy...
... i just dont know why... i would love to love him... but i just dont... it's driving me nuts... that i hate him. so i dare not watch this tube. EDIT: I gave in!!!!... and watched the video... and you know what... ??? I love the guy now LOL he gave a personal shout out to BimmerPost !! so i apology for saying the above... i take it back. Not because of the personal shout out... but because this video is really well made, just like any other video they made.. The initial reason why i didnt like him was due in part to a previous Bmw review he made, and back then he didn't sound very convincing and came out a bit trying too hard, too much. But this time around, for his review of this 6GC, the team work made it come across as much more pleasing to listen and watch. This is probably one of the most desirable cars on the market, who wouldn't love it... and we can see that he honestly love the car himself. Congrats on this well made video Rosenthal.

The Music,The Lighting, The Editing
Great script- but everything else got in the way.
The music is intrusive- mixed up too high. And the music is so 80's. Even the host looks a little like Michael Douglas. Not a bad thing I guess but it smacks of trying too hard to be cool from another era. Message to the host- Gordon Gekko wants to see you in his office....NOW! The lighting is overly dramatic- everything coming out of the shadows like a bunch of creatures in a horror flick. The editing with stop motion while the car is moving is so corny- so undergrad film-school. I couldn't watch it longer than 3 minutes. This is a generation disconnect from a crew that's stranded in the past. |

Didn't know the 640i takes off with such sonorous exhaust note!
My F10 535i with the same N55 engine doesn't do the same. Shame! Nice review. He doesn't just love to pick up the negatives like some. Love the GC, can't wait to see 4 series version of it... |

I like the review, it does have a bit of an 80's theme but that's not a bad thing. Although I'm 29, I still remember the luxury car commercials with the pyramid of wine glasses on the hood and the ball bearing following the panel gaps. A bit more calming than today's "HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY LOOK LOOK QUICK QUICK! okay it's over."

Love the vids this guy makes.. they're high quality, funny, and give the viewer exactly what they want to see -- just plain awesome!
Beats some schmuck walking around a vehicle talking to himself at a car show with his kid.. like so many vids on Youtube. |

I honestly think this is the best looking BMW now. Been a huge fan and still is of the 7 series but 6GC is more stylish. Great job BMW for creating such spectacular looking car and providing needs of many people that need style and practicality. Awesome personal shout out by Rosenthal Automobile dude!

Brake light
WTF?!?!?! On this they put the third brake light where it should be on a non-convertible car, but on the 6 coupe, they stick it on the trunk lid and in the case of the M6 they stick a silly fin ahead of it? WTF BMW?

I got the chance to test-drive 640D Gran Coupe a week ago. What a machine! I liked it even more than 640D Coupe which I test-drove a year ago.
The interior is mind-blowing, even though this particular car wasn't one of those Individual ones that were used in the official Press Release and official press-drives. It had optional leather interior inserts and a set of basic extras, nothing mind-blowing, yet I still felt like a king driving it. There was enough space in the back as well, though getting out of the car can become a problem for someone very tall or not so fit. Power delivery was so smooth and the engine noise was well-refined for a diesel, no matter how hard I've tried, I got up to 9.2l average, which should be around 25.5 MPG if my calculations are correct. Same thing I get on my F25 X3 3.0d. The exterior was fine as well, boot is large enough to carry couple of large suitcases and noise-cancellation inside the cabin is great as well. I've tried the car both inside the city and on highways, and the latter is where it really shines, just like it should. You enjoy every mile you drive this car, however the price is way too steep for me and I guess I'm way too young for the car at the moment. The one I drove had optional 20" rims and M-sport package, alongside the above mentioned leather interior, premium sound system (Harman Kardon Logic7), LED lights, 4-zone Climate Control and Comfort Access. A great car and a sales-pitching review. |
