Two totally different markets IMO.

I agree that the target markets for the M6 and GT-R are very different, and both cars have a completely different focus. See my reply to WRXXX about that. Someone shopping for a GT car probably won't be looking at the GT-R. With that said, it's not pointless to compare the two strictly on performance. Magazines, journalists, Top Gear, etc run many kinds of comparisons like this all the time.

Anyway, sorry for running the thread off course. I think the F12 in M6 guise is absolutely stunning. It has real presence about it that I never felt the E63 M6 had.

I recognized it the moment I saw it (though the red rumble strips threw me off at first, my have been edited at the end). If I only knew, I'd be there in a hurry. Looks stunning, never warmed up to the older body style, but this hits the spot!

I've never been a huge fan of the 6 series, and wasn't looking forward to the F13, but wow, it looks great. It's like the bigger brother to the E92 M3. I can't wait to see it in person.

Just fantastic in nearly every way (grill badge, steering wheel). Never thought I'd prefer the F12 to the E63, but this is simply too much to deny. Incredibly beautiful and wildly aggressive, well done BMW. Could do without the M6 grill badge and don't love the steering wheel design.

Not trying to be a hater, but am I the only one that feels the design is a bit 'busy', simple is elegant and clean. I'll admit though, that I'll probably change my mind once I see it in the flesh....

It's always the details...

I like... I like a LOT!

However, I have noticed a trend in recent times for BMW to add some details which seem just a little bit like they're trying too hard.

While they are pretty minor things, I feel that the line across the front intakes look a bit like an afterthought and the area around the rear diffuser really has far too much going on.

I have attached two images where I have used my almost non-existent PS skills to illustrate the point. For the front I just removed the offending line while for the rear I took an approach similar to the 1M where they added a grey panel more like the M-Sport cars but I have kept the body colour for the diffuser itself. These panels could be done in Carbon to match the roof...

Thoughts?

I like the front the way BMW has it.
The back I could take either way.
However, I would like to get a real life up close look at the back and entire car as BMW has it.

i really like the front grill and where the lights are placed,
the rear end could use some more work in making it more aggressive. ITS A M6! come on;\

I love everything about this car except the steering wheel (not sure if BMW is trolling everyone here with that one but that is unfit for a luxury performance car such as this one), the other thing is the M6 badge in the kidney which I am sure can be removed (that badge is the exact same thing everyone got made fun out of for doing themselves).
