Window calibration?
Every third or fourth time I raise the driver’s window, it balks as if there were an obstruction. There isn’t. I raised this issue during my warranty and the SA assured me that they had ‘recalibrated’ the window. It worked fine for a few months, but now this annoying gremlin has come back to haunt me. Does anyone know how to ‘recalibrate’ it? 2016 640 GC
Thanks in advance! |

When you say it balks, do you mean it stops and goes back down again? If so, the pinch protection is kicking in. There are some internet rumors it can be calibrated, but I think it's either failing, or there is a physical reason, like lubrication in the runners or weatherstrip or a cable. My front passenger window does it on occasion. So far it's not bad enough for me to tear my door apart. But if you use the switch and hold it up within like 5 seconds of it occurring you will override the pinch protection and the window will work.

my 650 rear side window did the same thing. Would go up then come back down again. Service tech came out to the write up bay and did a recalibration of the window in about a min and all has been good since then, a couple of years ago.
google BMW window calibration and its a simple 30 sec procedure using the window buttons |

OP, I have the same exact issue. Did the re-calibration using INPA software and also the google instructions way. It fixed it for a couple days but now it is back to doing it occasionally. If its not the dang BMW window regulators of old, it's the safety features. SMH
