Misfire + gas smell

Hey guys a friend of mines f13 m6 that he just got started to misfire and throw a drivetrain malfunction, plus a strong gas smell out the exhaust, any idea what it could be

I'd start with coil packs and plugs. If a coil pack goes out you get a misfire and unburned gas.

I had this recently. It was the high pressure fuel pump. Replaced by BMW under extended warranty for that part.
