Any suggestions on floor mats like Weathertech?
I want to get Weathertech mats for X5 but the prices are steep. There are loads of alternatives on Amazon and other places. Husky was supposedly good but nothing for X5. I do not want to buy junk that falls apart. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have used the Maxpider floor and cargo mats in my last 4 cars and love them. In the last 2 I switched to the carpeted version, which are my favorite. They are the perfect blend of a little carpet so they don't look or more importantly SOUND like a rubber wood hauling truck floormats. I hunt and get mud in mine all the time, but a quick spray and they are clean as a whistle and they are "pocketed" like normal all weather mats to catch all liquid spills and keep it all in the mat.
I have a post on here somewhere with them in my first X5. Found it - https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1573931

Check out ECS Tuning, they carry BMW OEM all‑weather floor mats. I have them for my M340i, including the trunk mat, and I really like them. I’ve always found WeatherTech mats a bit ugly; BMW’s OEM mats look sleek and low‑profile while still giving you the protection you need from snow melt and salt. They’re also really easy to clean.

I have the BMW all weather mats in my Z4 for 4 years now and have received plenty of compliments. In addition, they have held up well.
Cost to me was $0 as I always make the mats part of the deal when I get a new car. 😉 |

I've owned several sets of Weathertech mats -- mostly years ago. In 2021 I bought a set for a Porsche Macan and frankly was not impressed, particularly given the price.
I haven't gotten a set of mats for my M850i and am thinking that I will not. But if pressed I think I'd go for BMW OE mats. Those Z4 mats look great.

+1 on OEM rubberized all-weather mats.
They are just the right amount of protection with soft, pliable and grippy feel to them. I have Weathertech in my ski wagon, and while they fit fine, the texture and slipperiness are far from ideal. They just feel cheap. IMHO, a

I personally don't like OEM all-weather mats - expensive and too flat (i.e. without raised lips) so it doesn't contain mud or melting snow as well. Many also leave the dead pedal uncovered, resulting in an exposed gap right where your left foot is most of the time. |

As with just about everything, there's no one "best" for everybody's needs.
I went with the BMW all weather mats in the cabin of my M240i because they collect snow that melts off my shoes, and prevent dirt and grit from getting down into the mat like with carpeted or fiber ones. I don't like plasticky looking ones, and don't need or like the look of "extreme coverage." Get what works for and looks good to you. Just make sure the fit of your selection is right. I went with the KAGU trunk liner because some said the BMW one didn't cover properly. |

I have had the Maxpider KAGU cargo mat in my last 4-5 cars. It traps everything just like the huge heavy ones (even when I had a paint spill) AND they can be folded up easily if you are away from home and need it out of the way for some reason. Great product. My Audi came with a OEM all weather in the cargo and I still took it out and got a KAGU for it. Love them.

Personally, I always prefer the OEM mats, fabric or all-weather (which is my choice). They're going to look better, fit perfectly, and I think having the logo looks better for the overall aesthetic.
I've had two sets of Weathertech mats for past cars and thought they were total crap. The material feels cheaper, they're slippery, they grayed very quickly, and on one of the cars (Subaru Outback) the fit was terrible despite all their "laser measured" BS. Never again. Heresy time: I think Coco Mats are ugly as sin and don't get the attraction at all. |
