is that $400 Canadian? If so, that's really cheap.

both BMW dealers in my town wanted US$675 and US$700+ for a replacement key fob. This is on the 2023 X1 U11. Fortunately, someone was nice enough to take my lost key fob to the local police department. I picked it up the next day. (and cancelled the replacement key fob order at the BMW dealer)

Yes $400 Cdn but, it was for MX5 key fob. Not cheap for a Mazda! I would likely have remortgage the house to replace a Z4 key fob

Hmm.. I only payed $300 for a Honda key a couple of months ago. And that’s in the Bay Area where everything is crazy expensive.
Not at the dealer of course, I called a couple of mobile locksmiths.
To open the car the dealer made me a dummy key based on my VIN for just $25.

Yea, some things up here in Canada are expensive too. Your $300 USD is about $410 CDN. The replacement fob was from a dealership.

I accidentally sent my M550’s display key through the wash. That hurt real bad.
