Creaking noise front end

So my 640d gc makes a horrid noise as it goes over speed bumps. The same noise can be induced by accelerating. Thought the problem was initially the snapped near side spring but having replaced that it is still there. Next best idea is arb bushes. Car is 2013 and just coming up 70k miles. Any one else had something similar would be nice hear if you found a fix to direct my investigation.

Mine does the same in cold temperatures when going over bumps, but not acceleration. I attribute it to the suspension bushings, rubber spring seats, etc. My E39 does the same. I have written it off as a "BMW" idiosyncrasy as I am a long time BMW owner/enthusiast.

While I have never attempted, I have considered spraying Silicon Spray/Lubricant onto some of these areas to see if that would quiet it down.

Once OAT warms up, it goes away.

same

My car does this too in the rear. For sure sounds like creaky springs, I haven't considered anything being broken, and I am OCD about fixing things!

Sadly cold, warm, rain or shine it makes the same noise. Both wheels going over a speed bump rather than one going over a mound tends to induce it aswell.

OP - i have this exact issue. Bear in mind I have 20inch wheels on mine. Over depressions in the road, at low speed I do get a creak. I have learnt to live with it. Speed bumps, lets just say I go VERY slowly over them otherwise its painful to listen to.

Two garages have have the car up, nothing they can see is wrong, lubed the bushes, same thing. Its going in tomorrow for a new control arm, they say with will also lube both ends of Anti-roll bar to see if thats the culprit.

Its an annoying thing but if you really think about it, only effects you for 0.0001 % of the time you drive the car so live with it.

Brilliant I thought they could be the culprit. Once I’ve got my Elise back on to its wheels I’ll get the 6’er up in the air may even pop the power flex poly bushes on there.
