Novelist Problems
“There was an oil stain on the floor from a leaky carburetor.”
This drives me crazy. There I am reading a fairly good book and then wham! The author writes something this stupid. And it got by God only knows how many editors, etc. I see stuff like this a lot in novels. |

How many times in a movie do you hear the contrived racking of a slide (with no second hand on the gun) that's already supposed to be loaded? Or the clicking of a 1911 or AR trigger after all the rounds are spent? Makes me nuts.
