I don’t personally care about badges. The G8x front end on a non M car was really the only thing in this thread that made me question humanity.

Saw two fake Ms over the last couple of weeks, both F15 X5s, strangely enough.

One during our road trip to Pittsburgh, north of the city. Black F15, not even an M sport, but the original X5 badges were removed and of course replaced with X5 M badging.

The second was right after I got back to DFW. F15 wrapped in some sort of matte grey. I'll give them an E for effort by starting with an M sport model. Had an "M" badge on the front fenders ala the M50d and even X5 M front grilles and the required X5 M badges on the back.

I think at this point I see so many random base 3 Series cars driving around with ///MMMMMMM badges slapped all over that I don't even notice it anymore. Not that BMW is doing a great job of preventing the brand from being diluted anyway.

Wish I was able to get a pic of the one I saw over the weekend where the owner least knew what he had with the wanna be front euro plate that read “Fake M”

Thought I got a better picture, sorry guys.

Not really sure what was going on here… also had “spikes” lining the top of the rear window. It “sounded” stock, too. Front headlights were smoked, but looked like they just slapped some clear, but smoked vinyl on the outside of the headlight.

To be fair, to each their own, and I don’t think it says M3 (I think it’s just the German colored “M”).

That was always my confusion... normal people on the road likely won't know the difference between a 328i vs an M3 (badge or not), and the people who do know will immediately be able to tell the fake badge...

I was okay with the front... the colored slats aren't my thing, but don't bug me. But yeah... the rear badge dooms it!
