Where is the hood sensor?

For all my searching I can't figure it out. The closest I have come to an answer is that perhaps for a 2016 Grand Coupe, it's embedded in one or both of the latches themselves?

I'm having a problem with my alarm going off randomly. The battery is new (I replaced the old one primarily due to this problem).

I'm told the likely culprit is a faulty hood sensor. But where the hell is it? Help!

Not saying the hood sensor is the culprit…but if you unplug the wiring harness, the DWA (anti-theft system) will interpret the hood as being closed.

On the f06…S17 is the hood catch w/sensor & S17*B is the electrical connector:

Thank you, by the way. I'm sorry it took so long for me to say that. I actually didn't notice your reply until just now.

I thought I would post a follow-up since the culprit for my alarm woes was finally tracked down. It was not the battery. It was not the hood sensor. It was not the tilt sensor. It was the passenger side door sensor, which is part of the automatic door latching mechanism. It was apparently periodically sending a "door is open" signal which was both draining my battery and setting off my alarm.

…thanks for the update…and I’m glad you found the culprit and shared it with the forum.
