Yes, and I have done this on lesser machines. I use 60g in a Mr. Coffee, 50g in the Oxo and the Bonavita, and 40g in the Technivorm. If I drop 60g in the Technivorm it's too strong for me.

As always, IMHO YMMV DWYW NSOMB.

I've been drinking the Black Rifle coffee more and more. The branding makes me chuckle (with names like AK, Gunship, Murdered Out, etc).
And for fall, I decided to try their "Basic Batch" pumpkin spice flavoured coffee - it tasted interesting and new the first time, filling the kitchen with notes of gingerbread.
After that, meh.

It gets delivered today and I plan on stopping by my local coffee house to get some of their beans...moving away from costco 5lb bags now haha. Let the experimentation begin!

Love the disclaimers lmao...NSOMB is new to me though. Enlighten me?

Between the Tim Hortons and the Moconna instant, you're killing me.

Timmies is fine for "i just need a coffee" and their dark roast is better than the american habit of dirt water (dunkin doughnuts etc) but in a coffee thread, looking for proper coffee, it's pretty low in the pecking order.

Kauai Coffee, coconut caramel crunch. With a serving of chocolate collagen from Trader Joe's mixed in, it tastes like you are drinking dessert.

I used to love Dunkin coffee when I was younger....but honestly...it was better back in the day. Now mostly I make my own every day from various ground beans I get. I bring stuff home from Hawaii all the time. As far as commercial brew, when we go out we typically get Starbucks.

Alright....the Technivorm was totally worth it haha! I love this machine...even the wife is happy with it.

Our first brew was with the Costco House Blend Medium Roast which was actually pretty good when compared to our old $40 brewer.

But I was able to snag some fresh roasted beans from our little local coffee house and wow. So much better.

I cant wait to get my hands on a few more brands and trying out new flavor profiles.

The rabbit hole is deep. Next step is to start roasting at home. You'll never go back to buying from a store. Price of entry is low, about $20 for a popcorn roaster, then green beans at about $8 per pound on average. Sweet Maria's is where I'd start.

NSOMB was rude of me. No Sweat Off My Back. People are finicky about coffee, I get defensive. Apologies.

I have to admit...I already signed up for a coffee subscription to get access to small shops all over. Trying PT's to begin with.

NSOMB....ill definitely be using that in the future haha.

Ive thought about getting a bit into roasting but I already have so little time for current obsessions, not sure I can take on another. lol

Roasting is easy: pick some green beans from Sweet Marias, buy a GeneCafe and it takes maybe 20 minutes to roast 1/2 pound. Let rest for a day and you'll have more flavor than anything in the store. Green beans keep easily for 2 or 3 months but roast losses flavor day by day.
